Load Dump pulses simulate
the sudden disconnection (e.g. by corrosion) of
the battery from the alternator while the
alternator is generating current to load the
battery. Such Load Dump pulses are high energy
pulses with a high potential of destruction. The
LD 200M simulates these high energy pulses
having a duration time in the range of hundreds
of milliseconds.
The LD 200M generates the Load Dump pulses as
per ISO 7637, SAE J1113, SAE J1455, JASO and
many more manufacturer specification, e.g. Ford,
Chrysler, Renault, PSA, NISSAN etc.

Benefits
The LD 200M includes
everything necessary to conduct fully compliant
tests. It generates the required high-energy
pulses as required by
ISO 7637-2:2004 and many other international and
car manufacturer requirements discharging an
energy storage capacitor into a passive
pulseforming network. The decay of the waveform
follows a double-exponential function as
specified in Annex E of ISO 7637-2:2004.
The LD 200M is a standalone EMC tester including
a 60V/30A DC coupling/decoupling network but
still can easily be integrated into a complete
test set-up.
Operation is both manual and by software via
GPIB or RS232. Fail inputs allow to control an
ongoing test sequence based on the status of the
DUT. A warning lamp control contact is provided
as well as a safety interlock.
Pre-programmed Standard Test routines allow
highest user convenience. Additionally the LD
200M offers the Quick Start test routine where
parameters can be changed on-line during the
test to evaluate the susceptibility level of an
individual DUT.
Operation
Easy to Operate
Front panel menu and
function keys enable the user to program his
test routines quickly and accurately. The cursor
allows fast control of all test parameters of
the programmed routine, thus test procedures are
simplified and confidence is generated that
every step is carried out correctly.
Software
ISMISO EMC Software for
Control and Documentation
Outstanding user
convenience, clearly structured windows and
operation features and the EM TEST standards
library along with the flexibility to generate
user specific test sequences very easily are the
main features of ISMISO software. The software
is automatically configured according to the
connected EM TEST generators. ISMISO software
covers international/national standards and most
of the manufacturer standards and is
continuously updated. Extensive reporting
capabilities help the user to create test
reports that meet international requirements.
ISMISO is supported by Windows 95/98, Windows
ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Remote control is achieved either via RS232 or
GPIB. ISMISO supports a wide range of GPIB cards
of National Instruments.
EM TEST offers various
EMC Load Dump generators to cover the different
test requirements of international/national
standards and car manufacturers world-wide.
The LD
200M is the ultimate, most compact and most versatile
Load Dump tester world-wide. The design and technical
performance is based on the requirements of ISO 7637 for
12V and 24V battery supply systems and enables testing
on the 42V battery supply system. By means of the
Freestyle mode any load dump pulse can be programmed as
rise time, pulse duration and source impedance are
variable in a wide range.
CNA 200B - Coupling Network
for Automated Testing in Automotive
In case not used with a
UCS 200M EM TEST offers the CNA 200B series. By
means of this external coupling/decoupling
network the current range for the DUT can be
extended for up to 200A which allows to test
high-power consuming DUTs. Secondly, the
external coupling/decoupling network is used in
a fully automated test set-up along with other
automotive transient generators or battery
simulators and allows to perform test sequences
consisting of various pulses being generated by
means of different generators. Using the CNA
200B as the only DUT output port there is no
need to change the wiring between different test
pulses.
CA ISO contains a range
of non-inductive load resistors for the
verification of mirco pulse and load dump
pulses. The values of the built-in loads are
matched with ISO 7637-2:2004 Annex D and the
most common manufacturer specification. One
single box is enough to verify all micropulses
and load dump pulses under loaded condition.
AUTOWAVE by EMTEST
New
AutoWave to simulate, record and analysethe battery supply system
With the increasing number
of electronics installed in a vehicle all parties involved
(vehicle manufacturers, sub-suppliers and after-market product
manufacturers) are facing the challenge to have a clear picture
about the characteristics of the battery supply system. This is
in order to avoid failure of components and subsystems due to
voltage variations and transients not being covered by the
common test requirements. Such disturbances commonly and
physically occur on the supply system when the vehicle is driven
and various modules being connected to the complex wiring
harness are activated. The new AutoWave from EM TEST offers a
very powerful solution for all these problems, because AutoWave
is not just an arbitrary generator, it is also a very advanced
multi-channel wave simulator and two channel wave recorder with
a signal analyser, "ALL in ONE" Instrument !. The
AutoWave is even more indispensable, because it can be used both
in the laboratory as well as in the car during long-term test
drives as it can be powered by AC mains voltage or by the car's
battery voltage.

Bulk
Current Injection (BCI) Testing
Bulk
Current Injection (BCI) is a test procedure
to proof the immunity to electrical
disturbances by narrowband electromagnetic
energy. The test signal is injected by means
of a current injection probe. The current
injection probe physically is a current
transformer being laid around the wiring
harness. Immunity test are performed varying
the level and the frequency of the injected
test signal.
BCI test methode is widely known in the
automotive industry as well as in the
military/aircraft industry to test single
components of a complex system.
The CWS 500D is designed to be used also for
tests with TEM cell, Stripline and Parallel

DITO - A Masterpiece !!
Dito - The
Most Versatile EMC ESD Tester
Dito is designed to support
complete ESD test. Its powerful battery
allows to generate more than 50,000 pulses
at 16.5kV. This is enough for more than a
full days work. Dito`s different menues lead
the user through standard tests, helps to
evaluate the test points and allows to find
susceptibility levels.
It is unlike any other ESD generator. Its
ergonomic design is recognised to be more
user-friendly. There is no part of dito that
hides the discharge tip while watching the
display or operating dito. You see where you
point the tip no matter how you direct dito
to the EUT.
The discharge voltage is measured and
recorded. Discharge is stopped automatically
when battery voltage becomes low. User is
informed when dito cannot charge properly.
All this helps to assure reliable and
reproducible tests without any question mark
and doubt.
Discharge tips and discharge networks can
easily be changed without dismantling dito;
simply remove one and plug-on another tip or
module. The discharge modules are
automatically recognised and the R/C
configuration is shown in the display. You
just can't use a wrong discharge network!
Electrostatic discharges
either from a human body to any other part
or between two different objects can cause
persistent disturbances or even destruction
to sensitive electronics or controls.
Voltages of several 1,000 volts are
generated.

503
ACS 503 is a three-phase AC source,
specially designed for harmonics and flicker testing. It
meets the corresponding specifications as per EN/IEC
61000-3-2 and EN/IEC 61000-3-3 as well as per
EN/IEC 61000-3-11 and EN/IEC 61000-3-12 for measuring
DUT's having a nominal current of more than 16A per
phase.
It provides the perfect sinusoidal and stable voltage
signal specified to perform fully compliant harmonics
and flicker analysis despite of the mains supply
frequency and steadyness of the voltage.
DPA 500
Harmonics and interharmonics are caused
by modern electronic power conditioning modules. Such,
mostly non-linear, modules to control loads and to
reduce power consumption is the source of voltage at
unwanted frequencies superposed on the supply voltage.
Voltage fluctuations caused by varying load currents may
influence luminance or spectral distribution of lighting
systems. The impression of unsteadies of visual
sensation induced by this light stimulus is called
flicker. Flicker also needs to be limited to a minimum.
The DPA500 is used for single phase applications.
